MCU Translate is a document translation service operated by Ming Chuan University for its staff and members. This page explains what data the service handles and why.
You sign in with your Ming Chuan University Google account. The service receives your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. It uses them only to identify you inside the service. Accounts outside the university's domain are refused.
Translation staff members may additionally grant two Google permissions:
General users are asked only for basic sign-in information, not for these permissions.
MCU Translate's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Documents you upload are stored on university-operated servers and processed to produce translations. Document text is sent to the service's contracted AI translation provider solely to produce the translation. Documents are not sold and are not shared with any other third party.
Uploaded documents and translation results are kept only as long as needed to operate the service. You may request deletion of your data or your account at any time using the contact below.
MCU Translate also stores your Google account identifiers (name, email address, and profile picture) and the authorization tokens Google issues at sign-in; for translation staff who grant the optional permissions, those tokens cover the added permissions as well. These records are kept while your account is active and are deleted on request through the contact below. They are not shared with third parties.
